Biking in Groningen
View the beautiful surroundings once per bike. There are cycling routes with nodes throughout the region. This way you always return to our park. There are several routes to cycle. You can choose to cycle to the neighboring town of Oldambt in the direction of Blauwestad; a large recreational lake with lots of water sports. Along the way you will pass Winschoten, a cozy city with a long shopping street.
If you want more variety in nature, then cycle to the south. Via Wedde to Smeerling; a beautiful forest area with streams. Or go to Ter Apel by car and cycle in that area. It will amaze you! A large mooring area with sheep cage, forest and much more nature. Of course, a cycling trip to Bourtange cannot be missed. Cycle through Vriescheloo to the fortified city.
Don’t have a bike? Rent a bicycle at reception! There are also children’s bikes and seats for rent behind and on the bike. So you can go on a day trip with the whole family. Also nice to cycle to Dinopark Tenaxx or opt for an exciting adventure with Wolkje Wind.
Children’s cycling route “Wolkje Wind”
Join us on a true discovery trip through Westerwolde. This signposted children’s cycle route of approximately 12 km starts at the center of our holiday park.
At the reception the adventure starts. You get a backpack and hit the road. During the cycling tour, Wolkje Wind talks about windmills, wind dancers, listening cards, wind directions and wind force. On the way you stop to carry out assignments. When you’re done cycling, you go back to the reception, for a real Wolkje Wind diploma!
Mountain biking
The longest mountain bike network in the Netherlands (more than 200 km) is here in Westerwolde! The network consists of 5 individual MTB routes that are interconnected. The longest route of 45 km starts at our holiday park. You start at the center building and head for Bellingwolde. The different routes all have their own charm and some are a big challenge through forests and sand hills. Enjoy the charming landscape!
Oost Groninger Biking Three Days
Every year a three-day bike event is organized. The start is at the adjacent Camping. Take your bike or rent a bike at the reception. Enjoy the beautiful Westerwolde and the adjacent Oldambt with a bike ride of 40 kilometers. Every day there is a different route, so let yourself be surprised by cycling.
No time to cycle for three days? One or two days is possible too. You can register on-site, but also in advance via the website of the cycle three-day .
Start date: Tuesday, June 5
End date: Thursday, June 7
Time: Official start is 9.30 am, but later is also possible until 11.30.
Location: Camping Wedderbergen (opposite to our park)
