Villapark Weddermeer is one of the few parks in the Netherlands where fishing is so central. Our fish park is located in the beautifully country-side of Westerwolde (in south-east Groningen). The park is built in such a way that almost all villas are next to the fishing water. The spacious villas have a platform in the garden, where you can throw a rod in the fishing water.
Every year new carp, bream and other whitefish are placed into the water to preserve a nice fish stock. Not just carps, but a diversity of scales, mirror and grass carp of various sizes. It is not uncommon to catch a carp of over 38 pounds! A nice challenge for every fisherman. Would you rather fish in the evening or early hours? No problem, as long as other park guests are not disturbed.
You certainly do not have to be a fanatic angler to book a villa at our holiday park. Fishing is for the young and old. In addition to carp and bream, a large number of whitefish has been released. Just through out your rod and wait until they bite.
Did you forget your fishing rod? No problem! In the mini-market, at the reception, there is a wide range of fishing material from famous brands such as Korba, Spro and Gamakatsu. Fixed poles, store pickers, carp rods but also various types of feed, underlines, bite alarm, rodpots and unhooking mats can be found in the mini-market.
Fishing on the Weddermeer
The nearby lake, the ‘Weddermeer’, with its 30 acres of water is an excellent base for fishing on carp. The recreational lake has at the rear a number of fishing spots that can be reserved. For fishing at the Weddermeer you will need a permit. This permit is linked to a fishing spot and gives you the guarantee for the place in question. Park guests who have booked a villa and also want to fish on the Weddermeer in the same period receive a 50% discount on a fishing permit. When booking via Carp Fishing Weddermeer you can enter the booking number of the park and the 50 % discount is added.
The permits are issued at the reception of Villapark Weddermeer. You can only buy a permit of 1 or more days. The permit always runs from 11:00 in the morning until 11:00 in the morning. The fishing spots are not reachable by car. Your car can be parked at the central parking of Villapark Weddermeer. You are taken to the fishing spot with a golf cart and picked up again on the departure day. Bringing and collecting takes place around 11.00. If you stay at the park you can also be picked up at the villa. If you would like so, please request this in advance at the reception.
An additional service offered by the park is the booking of “full board”. This way you do not have to leave your fishing rods. Your breakfast, lunch and dinner are brought to the fishing spot every day. How easy do you want it to be! Fresh rolls every day and a varied lunch and dinner. Certain allergies? Just inform the reception and the cook will take it into account.
On the other side of the Weddermeer you will find the Weddermeerhoeve. At the back of this beautiful farm they have sanitary facilities especially for carp anglers. When issuing the permit you can, after paying the deposit, get a key for these facilities. In the room there are toilets, showers, but also lockers with electricity outlets.
The Weddermeer is a public recreational lake. This means that on the other side of the lake people are using the sandy beaches, swim and play with inflatable material.
